About Cecilia Smith

Hello! This summer, I have the privilege to participate on Pedal the Pacific's 10th team to raise awareness of sex trafficking and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. I will be joining 9 other amazing and strong individuals biking from Seattle to San Diego over 7 weeks, using bikes as a way to start the conversation, raise awareness, and fight against sex trafficking.

I grew up riding bikes through the Washington Student Cycling League on the Edmonds Mountain Bike Team, and have always had a love for pedaling. When I first heard about Pedal the Pacific, I was struck by the organization's ability to use bikes as a way to empower and to initiate the conversation on such an important issue that harmfully impacts all communities to a significant extent, yet is rarely spoken about. We are using bikes as a tool for advocacy and to reach communities along our journey to challenge the stigma and inspire further action to stop sex trafficking for good.

We are partnering with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which is the leading organization protecting children from exploitation and sex trafficking through education, supporting afflicted families, and providing vital resources to children and those who keep them safe. To put it simply, we are riding for a better future, where everyone is safe.

Please consider supporting me and my team as we work to educate, empower, and fundraise in the fight against sex trafficking. Whether you can donate, share this page, or further educate yourself about the issue (https://www.pedalthepacific.org/ is a great place to start!) I really appreciate your contribution to the cause and cannot wait for the journey ahead!

With all of the love and gratitude,

Cecilia (Cece) Smith
