I ride to shed light on the unseen ways sex trafficking shows up in everyday life and online. I aim to use the gift of an able body to advocate for the restoration of these God-given rights that have been violated for so many. All human life has inherent dignity and each individual is entitled to the freedoms bestowed by our Creator. I aim to amplify the stories of survivors while becoming more educated on the realities of sex trafficking in the United States.

About Margot Heltzel

Hi there, thanks for visiting my page! My name is Margot and I will be riding with Pedal the Pacific's 10th team in the summer of 2026 to raise awareness on the realities of sex trafficking. Part of this advocacy includes raising funds to fight sex trafficking and care for survivors of sexual exploitation- and your support means the world. 

Growing up, sex trafficking was often a topic of conversation in my home as something to be vigilant of and try to protect myself from. As I got older, the scope and gravity of the system became more apparent and I found myself feeling fearful and powerless. I remember doing my 8th grade passion project on human trafficking, sharing statistics and stories of survivors with my classmates and their parents. I saw that many people were unaware of this form of modern-day slavery here in our home, but also a deep care and concern for those who are in danger.

Hopping on the bike this summer will be a continuation of that project, and an opportunity for you and I to take action on the issue. With each pedal, donation, and sharing Pedal's mission with those you know, we can fight for a world where people are not for sale!!
